The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism keeps a list of the public gun ranges in the state of Kansas. These ranges offer a variety of rifle and pistol shooting opportunities.

Here are six spots for firearms and pistol practice in the state of Kansas:

1.Centerfire Shooting Sports: Located in Olathe, this 16 shooting lane facility provides a fully heated and air-conditioned area. They also offer a variety of classes for first time gun users, as well as more experienced shooters who want to learn more about the sport or qualify for concealed carry.

"I found Centerfire Sports to be professional, spiffy, well informed, nonpolitical shop," writes a reviewer on Yelp.

2. Ogden's Best Gun Range: Located in Ogden, this indoor range allows only pistol calibers, no rifles. It has a 21-yard range with electronic target retrieval. 

"When it comes to guns its life or death, and they will tell you whats the best fit for your coin, style and most of all functionality," writes a reviewer on Google.

3. Don Brown Memorial Shooting Range: Located in Canton, this shooting range is run by the State of Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism. It is a 100 yard range that does not allow clay or skeet shooting. It does allow pistol, smallbore and high powered rifle shooting.

4. Powder Creek Shooting Park: Located in Lenexa, this facility has been around since 1949 and offers a wide range of shooting opportunities including 5-stand, trap, skeet and sporting clay games.

"What's nice about Powder Creek is that the facility is clean friendly and they have a large variety of clay sporting games," writes a reviewer on Yelp.

5. The Outback Park and Public Range: Located in McPherson, Kansas, this shooting park offers visitors five pistol ranges and nine rifle ranges. While it is not an indoor facility, it does offer covered shooting to protect from the sun and rain. They have picnic and play areas for family events and is wheelchair accessible. Outback Park offers pistols and rifles for daily rental.

"If you are thinking of going here, JUST GO! They guy who runs the place is awesome, really had a fun experience," writes a reviewer on Yelp.

6. Bullseye Shooting Range: Located in Wichita, this facility has a pistol and rifle range. The pistol range has 10 shooting lanes divided by concrete walls for safety. The rifle range offers the only 100-yard opportunity in the state with five shooting lanes. 

"The upkeep on the range is great, and they have an underground rifle range ... It's my go to indoor range," writes a reviewer on Google.
