Iowa has a variety of staffed and unstaffed gun range facilities throughout the state. Pistol and rifle stations, as well as shotgun ranges allow for a safe shooting environment at low or no-cost. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources manages a variety of facilities and there are also many private ranges in the state.

Here are six places for firearms and pistol practice in the state of Iowa:

1. Banner Shooting Range: Located in Warren County south of Des Moines, this range is managed by the Department of Natural Resources. It has two lanes, one features pistol and rifle shooting at 25 and 50 yard distances, while the other extends to 100 yards. It is a fully staffed range with safety equipment available.
