Florida offers hunters a variety of resources, both online and in the form of mobile apps, to get the most out of their hunting experience.

Here are five resources for hunting in Florida for those who are tech savvy.

1. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission's hunting app allows users to purchase hunting and fishing licenses online, access regulations, view copies of current licenses and use geo-locating tools. The free download works on smartphones and has the ability to determine sunrise and sunset times for users based on GPS location services. The app also provides users with weather information.

2. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission website provides hunters with a wealth of information at the click of a button. Online information about licenses, permits, hunting land and hunt quotas can be accessed at the site. It also provides hunters with links to conservation information and educational opportunities.

3. The Florida Wildlife Extension, run in conjunction with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, is another great online resource available to Florida hunters. The site provides information on licenses as well as background information on a variety of animals.

4. Huntinggpsmaps.com is not specific to Florida, but provides a wealth of information with its national plat coverage. Hunters can download the app and view all of their options regarding hunting land. The app provides information about state, federal and private hunting lands. The GPS locator also provides hunters with instant information about where they are in the field as they hunt. Hunting zones are provided in depth, as well as points of interest in the area the hunter is located.

5. The Mossy Oak Hunting Weather App allows users to pinpoint lunar times, barometric changes, radar, and wind activity. The app provides current weather information and a 72-hour outlook.
