By    |   Monday, 13 Apr 2015 05:33 PM

Montana prefers to be known as a state of farmers, ranchers and miners, but the sheer numbers of employees and employers tell a story repeated throughout the western U.S. and beyond: Health care is the growth industry.

America’s Career InfoNet, a jobs information website, lists healthcare providers and associated industries in four of the top five positions – and all four are separate units of one entity, Billings Clinic. In the second tier by size are three more healthcare companies, an Air Force base – and the state’s Department of Health and Human Services.
