The top employers in Idaho range from the U.S. military to Boise State University; however, with Idaho’s bustling business and medical scenes, it’s not surprising that a few businesses and medical centers have been able to earn their places as on the list as well. Here are five prime examples:

1. Micron Technology, Inc

With its headquarters located in Boise, Micron Technology is one of the world’s largest suppliers of computer memory and has roughly 5,000 employees. Located in over 20 countries, this business focuses on semiconductor technologies and holds patents to an array of products.

2. Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center

The Saint Alphonsus Health System includes four hospitals located around the state, and employs over 950 medical staff and more than 4,300 associates who are dedicated to helping the people of Idaho. The crown jewel of this system is their Level II Trauma Center; however, this system has also earned marks of excellence for other centers, ranging from oncology to orthopedics and cardiovascular care. All of their centers are associated with the Catholic faith.

3. On Semiconductor Corp

As the name suggests, On Semiconductor Corp focuses on semiconductor technologies. Located in Pocatello, this business employs roughly 2,300 people. In addition to providing custom products, they also offer tools for power and signal management.

4. Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center

The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls focuses on surgical services ranging from cardiovascular surgery to trauma and reconstructive services. 5. Melaleuca, Inc.

Based in Idaho Falls, Melaleuca manufactures soap products and has grown to roughly 1,600 employees after starting out as a small start-up more than 30 years ago. Now, this company boasts locations in 17 countries, and is on a mission to remove toxic and harmful chemicals from the home. They sell an array of green detergents, soaps, cleaning agents and supplements.
