Donald Miller was born and raised in a Christian household in Pearland, Texas. At the age of 21, he moved to Portland, Oregon where he settled for many years.

After a cross-country road trip, Miller wrote his first book, "Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance: Finding God on the Open Road," which was published successfully in 2000. As a writer, Miller has published nine books on life, love and his Christian view on the world.
