1. Dog Tags and Licenses
In general, the state of Delaware requires dogs to be collared and wear current license tags at all time when outside of the owner's home. However, when dogs are engaged in active hunts, the rule regarding tags is waived. Despite this, a valid dog tag and license must be available for review while the dog is in the act of hunting, according to the state of Delaware website.

2. Sunday Regulations
The hunting of game birds and game animals is prohibited with or without dogs on Sunday, except in cases when the dog is in training, the hunter is engaged in trapping, or in the specific case of hunting red foxes.

3. Hunting with Dogs Wearing Noise-Producing Items
The state prohibits hunting with dogs wearing bells or other noise-producing devices.

4. Hunting Red Foxes and Deer
When a dog is actively pursuing a red fox, it is illegal for a hunter to shoot at or kill the fox by any means. Hunters also are prohibited from using dogs to hunt or pursue deer.

5. Hunting at Night
Delaware has specific rules regarding the hunting of game animals or birds at night. In most cases, hunting at night is prohibited. However, when hunting raccoons or possums, it is possible to use dogs when riding a horse or mule or hunting on foot.
