4. Lake Fishing: Any number of small lakes across Northern Kentucky offer a place to drown a worm, and local fishermen have their “neighborhood” favorites. Check out this discussion at Fishin.com:

5. Kentucky State Parks: The state's parks offer fishing spots all across the state. In the Northern Kentucky area, Big Bone Lick and General Butler state parks get special mention for fishing.

6. Wildlife Management Areas:
Some of the 80 Kentucky Wildlife Management Areas are available free of charge to hunters; others require a permit. For public hunting areas closest to the Creation Museum and the phone number to call to find out about permits, scroll down to “Bluegrass Region” on the Public Land Hunting website.

7. Patoka Lake State Park: Located just across the Ohio River in Indiana, the park boasts bass, bluegill, crappie, sunfish, rockfish, catfish, walleye -- all kinds of fish. For weather, fishing reports, and where to get licenses, check out the marina’s web site.
