4. Fish oil supplements may help with brain health, but results from studies are mixed. Some research suggests the supplements slow cognitive decline, but other studies show no improvement, according to the University of California’s Berkeley Wellness.

5. Vitamin D helps with nerve growth in the brain, and it is involved with the processing of information and new memories. Mercola advises people get vitamin D through sun exposure and vitamin D3 supplements for brain health. People also need to have their vitamin D levels checked with a doctor to stay within range for their specific condition.

These natural supplements are usually safe, but checking with your doctor before you start taking them is important.
