LOS ANGELES -- A federal judge has refused to declare a mistrial for a co-defendant in the racketeering trial of Hollywood private eye Anthony Pellicano.
The judge said Monday there were insufficient grounds for ending the trial against former Los Angeles police Sgt. Mark Arneson.
He is accused of taking bribes in excess of $180,000 to run names through police databases as part of a criminal enterprise allegedly spearheaded by Pellicano.
Pellicano, Arneson and three other co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to a variety of charges.
