Chambersburg

Chambersburg,
Pennsylvania

Chambersburg’s charms include the historic Capitol Theatre downtown. The facility was a spectacle when it opened in 1927; it was renovated in 1996, and local volunteers have maintained it ever since.  The theater has its original organ, a Moller Opus 4800, that was installed in 1926. (The same organist, Wilford Binder, played it from opening night until 1952.) The Cumberland Valley Theatre Organ Society is working with the community to restore the instrument.
