I spent hours watching the Senate Armed Services Committee. Polls tell us that the public loathes and hates Congress; they think Congressmen do no work and fail. I found the Senators in this hearing to be brilliant. 

They got out the testimony that the U.S. cannot fulfill its defense commitments. We are stretched thin everywhere. We must spend more on defense. We need to defend the peace and freedom of the nation — and the world, so writes Ben Stein in The American Spectator.
