Ronald Kessler Joins NewsMax

NewsMax Media, Inc. is pleased to announce that award-winning journalist and noted author Ronald Kessler has joined its news service as Chief Washington Correspondent.

Mr. Kessler will write dispatches and analysis from the White House, Capitol Hill, and elsewhere in the nation’s capital. His reports will be published exclusively on NewsMax.com and in NewsMax magazine, the monthly print publication.

NewsMax.com is an Internet powerhouse with an average of two million unique visitors each month. NewsMax magazine is read by more than 500,000 readers each month and is the nation’s largest independent news monthly.

Mr. Kessler will deliver the kind of hard-hitting investigative reporting that has characterized his more than four decades of journalism, during which time he has won 16 major awards, including prestigious George Polk prizes for national reporting and community service.

He began his distinguished career as a journalist in 1964 on the Worcester (Mass.) Telegram, followed by three years as an investigative reporter and editorial writer with the Boston Herald.

In 1968, he joined The Wall Street Journal as a reporter in the New York bureau. He became an investigative reporter with The Washington Post in 1970 and continued as a staff writer until 1985.

"Ronald Kessler is a rare find,” said NewsMax CEO Christopher Ruddy. "Few journalists can claim the enormous breadth and scope of the turf he has covered. He has a long history of combining quality work and balanced journalism, and he has an uncanny ability to ferret out news stories that other journalists miss.”

Mr. Kessler is also The New York Times best-selling author of 16 books, including "Inside the CIA: Revealing the Secrets of the World’s Most Powerful Spy Agency,” written with the CIA’s cooperation; "The FBI: Inside the World’s Most Powerful Law Enforcement Agency,” the most revealing book about the inside of the Bureau ever written; "Inside the White House: The Hidden Lives of the Modern Presidents and the Secrets of the World’s Most Powerful Institution,” depicting what the presidents and first families are really like and how the White House really operates.

His works also include "Inside Congress: The Shocking Scandals, Corruption, and Abuse of Power Behind the Scenes on Capitol Hill,” for which more than 350 such insiders talked for the first time; and "A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush,” one of the first books to penetrate the secretive White House.

Kessler’s most recent New York Times best seller, "Laura Bush: An Intimate Portrait of the First Lady,” is the only book to be written about the first lady with White House cooperation. The book was excerpted for the April 2006 cover story of NewsMax magazine. [Editor’s Note: Get a FREE copy of Ron Kessler’s Laura Bush – and read Ron Kessler in NewsMax Magazine – Go Here Now!]

"Since I first learned about NewsMax, I’ve admired how, in order to tell the truth about subjects ranging from politics to medicine, it presents factual material that the rest of the media ignore,” Mr. Kessler said. "I’m proud to be associated with an operation that practices journalism honestly and fairly.”

Mr. Kessler’s first in-depth story for NewsMax, as a full-time correspondent, will be a groundbreaking profile of Kenneth Mehlman, chairman of the Republican National Committee.
