Jimmy Buffett says he will campaign for only two candidates in next year’s election: Florida Sen. Bill Nelson and Buffett’s fellow singer-author Kinky Friedman, who’s making a long-shot bid for governor of Texas.

Buffett gets many requests for help from Democratic candidates, the "Margaritaville” singer said during an appearance at Harvard University to speak to former Sen. Bob Graham’s study group.

  He has campaigned for Nelson in the past and told the St. Petersburg Times: "I think he’s been a very good senator for Florida and a voice of moderation. I like voices of moderation.”

As for Friedman, Buffett said "he’s an old friend of mine and he wrote a great review of my book. I like what he’s doing.”

Buffett has previously made campaign appearances for President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore, among others.

He said he’s "going to get actively involved” in Nelson’s re-election campaign.
