Kerry Campaign: Michael Moore an 'Extremist'
Michael Moore may be the Democratic Party's favorite filmmaker, but the Kerry-Edwards campaign wants nothing to do with him during next week's Democratic Convention in Boston.
Asked about some of the angry Bush-bashing rhetoric coming from Hollywood these days, Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton told Westwood One radio host Ron Insana on Saturday: "I can't speak for every extremist out there. Michael Moore - these people aren't part of the Kerry campaign."

But it turns out Clanton may have spoken too soon. Not only will Moore be descending on Boston during convention week to bask in the adulation of adoring Democrats at three area appearances, the official DNC entertainment list also includes Bush-hating rocker John Mellencamp.
Just two weeks ago, Mellencamp appeared at a Kerry-Edwards fund-raiser at Radio City Music Hall where he bashed the president as "another cheap thug who sacrifices our young." This was the same event where Whoopi Goldberg compared Bush to her genitals.
Though Whoopi won't be entertaining Dem conventioneers, Saturday's Boston Herald reports that "The DNC announced yesterday that John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, the Black Eyed Peas and Wyclef Jean will sing during the four-night convention."
Mellencamp was a favorite of would-be Veep Edwards on the campaign trail, the paper noted.
