Nightclub 'VIPs' Get Chips Implanted
Remember when mom said, "If your friends jumped off a cliff, would you?" Now she should ask the same thing about getting a microchip implanted in your arm just to act like a nightlife big shot.
Baja Beach Club in Barcelona, Spain, already offers to inject chips in the arms of big spenders and celebs for quick admission to its snooty VIP lounge.
"The subdermal transmitters, made by Applied Digital Solution's VeriChip unit, are implanted with a syringe by a club staffer who is a nurse licensed to give injections," Fortune magazine reports.
Expect trendoids in Manhattan, South Beach and La-La Land to ape the gimmick. Anything to be one of the popular kids.
