Kerry: What, Me Botox?

Democratic presidential front-runner Sen. John Kerry is personally denying media rumors that his new "shinier" look has anything to do with Botox injections, the pharmaceutical wrinkle remover his wife openly admits to using.

The story burst into print last week when the Chicago Tribune speculated on what may be behind the Massachusetts Democrat's new and improved demeanor.

The Boston Herald followed up on Sunday with an editorial noting that Kerry does indeed suddenly look "shinier than usual."

After denials from his campaign failed to put the story to rest, Kerry himself was confronted on the Botox issue yesterday morning during an interview with Boston radio hosts "Blute and Scotto," aka Peter Blute and Scott Allen Miller, on WRKO-AM 680.

"Do you categorically deny the reports that you have used Botox or have had any other kind of cosmetic surgery or cosmetic enhancements to your appearance?" Miller asked Kerry.

"Absolutely," Kerry shot back. "I've never even heard of it. Where did this come from?"

"Blute and Scotto" cited reports in the Tribune and New York Daily News, to which Kerry replied, "I've never even heard of it, never heard of it."

Asked last May whether she'd ever had a Botox injection or two to improve her looks, Kerry's wife, Teresa, answered in the affirmative, telling Elle magazine, "In fact I need another one. Soon."
