Tony Blair Declares War Today
Neal Boortz
Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001
There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men.
– Edmund Burke

We'll be carrying Blair's speech live this morning at 9:15. He is expected to flatly state that "time's up" and the attack is about to begin. Bush is trying to downplay things a bit, but it seems clear that something is about to happen. Something to answer for the terrorist attack on America.

Speaking of the terrorist attack … have you noticed how many news outlets are now starting to write and speak of the "incident" and the "tragedy" of Sept. 11? It wasn't an incident. It was much more than a tragedy. It was an attack. An act of war. An act of cowards. Stop the PC crap and call it what it was – an attack on innocent American civilians.

The cold-blooded side is coming out. I'm looking forward to seeing some turbans flying through the air.

Turn bin Laden Over? No … Hand His Body Over

Meanwhile, the leftists are continuing with their campaign of appeasement. They want bin Laden "turned over" to some international court for trial. We must presume that they mean the U.N. World Court. Well, to hell with that idea. The U.N. wasn't attacked, the United States was.

Here's a scenario. In a last-minute attempt to avoid destruction the Taliban may well take bin Laden and turn him over to the United Nations. They know that the U.N. is, at heart, an anti-American agency. Bin Laden would certainly receive better treatment at the hands of the U.N. than he would at the hands of Americans.

Now, if that scenario does come about, here's our response. Tell the United Nations that within 48 hours one of two things must happen. Either they turn bin Laden, or his body parts, over to U.S. officials, or the delegation chief of every member nation must leave the United States. Either one – within 48 hours. And after the delegation chiefs leave, the remainder of the U.N. staff will have 30 days to wrap up any business it may have in the United States and leave – for good. The United Nations building would then be seized and turned over to the lease-holders of the Twin Towers to provide temporary office space for displaced companies.

It should be pointed out that one of the worst things that could happen would be for Osama Yo Momma to be handed over to the U.S. alive. He then becomes a rallying point for anti-American demonstrations around the world. If by some chance he is handed over live, let's hope the U.S. agents transporting him are smart enough to kill his sorry ass while he is trying to "escape."

From overseas wire services we learn that the Taliban (1) are burning dogs to intimidate their subjects and (2) ramble off to battle aboard battered pickup trucks. The Northern Alliance, which is fighting the Taliban, reports that hundreds of Taliban "warriors" are switching sides in the conflict.

In this country, kids who torture animals are generally regarded as criminals in the making. The Taliban are no different – they've just managed to parlay their talents into fear mongering and political power.

These fanatics can sure talk tough – but watch 'em run when the bombs start dropping.

Hello, Muddah?

There seems to be little doubt now in the international community that Osama is the mastermind behind the terrorist attacks. The U.S. has tapes of telephone calls from Osama to Momma telling her that something big is about to happen and he will have to drop from sight for a while.

Maybe U.S. authorities can arrange to have one or two of his body parts shipped to Osama's Momma so she'll have something to bury.

Relief Supplies

The morning news showed video of relief supplies being unloaded and distributed in Pakistan. They were clearly labeled "USA." The people receiving those supplies had no question as to where they came from: the people of the United States.

This is why I adamantly oppose our funding of U.N. organizations like UNICEF. If Americans are going to give their hard-earned money to help people abroad, then secure the credit for America. Something needs to be done to counter the anti-American indoctrination that is so strong in that corner of the world. A bag of rice with "USA" stenciled on the side is a good start. The U.N. hates America – why should we pay good money to make the U.N. look like the world's savior?

Pardon Me for Asking, But …

…. have they found Chandra Levy yet? And has Gary Condit resigned from the Congress? Oh, wait! Excuse me. Almost forgot. He has a dandy new assignment on some Homeland Security committee or something.

Clinton Shamed While Bush Shines!

You should have seen the broad smile on my face yesterday when I read that the United States Supreme Court has disbarred Bill Clinton. Clinton says he will appeal. Yeah, right.

This is a wonderful affirmation of the rule of law – and a reminder that even our most powerful leaders are mandated to follow that law. Clinton lied, he obstructed justice, he made a mockery of our laws – and finally our top legal entity has slapped him down.

OK – Time to Lighten Up on Bill Maher

I've appeared on "Politically Incorrect" once. Didn't get the return invite. Maybe I didn't pay enough homage to Bill Maher. Anyway, I saw that bit where he said that lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles was cowardly. Come on, folks. There is some basis for that remark when you consider who ordered the launch – none other than Bill Clinton!

At any rate, what happened to freedom of speech? So Maher said something you don't like. He said something that offended you. Have you checked the name of the show lately?

No, I don't like what he said. No, I don't think he's a libertarian. He's a leftist – pure and simple. But it was his opinion and he's entitled to it. Take him off the air? Only if people stop watching. The ratings should be the deciding factor.

AOPA Legislative Alert

For my pilot buddies … the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has issued a legislative alert. It's time for you to contact your elected representatives to do something about this ban on VFR flight for small airplanes in "enhanced" Class B airspace. Details: http://www.aopa.org.

Today's Ridiculous P.C. Moment

We take you now to Jefferson (Government) Middle School in Fort Wayne, Ind. The school's mascot is the Minuteman. There's an image of the Minuteman on a wall just inside the main door of the school. It's been repainted recently. The musket that used to be in the Minuteman's hand is gone.

Principal Michael Morris took over at the school in July. He had the mural repainted. He says the mural needed a fresh coat of paint anyway. He says guns have no place in schools – and "this sends a stronger, better message about patriotism."

I think I'm going to be sick. How does the image of an unarmed revolutionary soldier send a better message about patriotism? This country became free because its citizens were armed and willing to fight for their freedom. If anything, the revised mural sends the wrong message – the message that America's freedom can be secured and maintained without the need to resort to violence.

Ah, well. In our politically correct socialist indoctrination centers, also known as government schools, it's par for the course to teach kids that guns are bad. Never mind that guns are used to deter crime more than 7,000 times each and every day ... or that armed passengers could have prevented the Sept. 11 hijackings.

Let's continue to be aware of the threat posed by international terrorism ... but we shouldn't ever ignore the threat from our government indoctrinators.

The Anti-gun Movement Is Dead (for Now)

A basic fact that emerged from Sept. 11 was that guns can't be used as mass-murder weapons nearly as efficiently as four jetliners loaded with thousands of gallons of fuel.

In fact, not a single gun was used to take any of those four aircraft. So the anti-gun groups have nothing to talk about. In fact, interest in gun control has sagged since President Bush took office. To that end, the Brady Campaign (formerly known as Handgun Control Inc.) is reportedly cutting 20 percent of its employees.

Click on the links below and you'll read about Americans in several states who have reached the awful realization that the government was powerless to stop the hijackings. Protection begins with the individual. No 911 emergency dispatcher could have sent a policeman to stop those jets from slamming into their targets. And remember, the police have no legal obligation to protect individual citizens – it's been proven in court several times.

Of course, that doesn't stop the gun grabbers in the media from labeling the people who have bought guns since Sept. 11 as "irrational" and "impulsive." As if wanting to protect yourself and your loved ones is "irrational."

Here's hoping these first-time gun buyers get some training and range time so they can hit what they're aiming at.

E-Mail

I attend a community college, and I attend some distance learning classes from a local high school. Just to give you some background, distance learning classes are where a college professor will teach classes off-campus at a remote site. Anyway, some high school student left their lecture notes behind, and I had the pleasure of reading what they're teaching our students. I quote in part: "People who are racially prejudice [sic] and intolerant of other peoples [sic] views tend to be Republicans and under-educated white males." This is just a snap-shot of how they're brain washing our young high school students.

I am a student at a metro area university and received a very interesting topic for an analytical essay, the question on which I had to write was as follows: "Why does the U.S. cling to a capitalistic economic system since it undermines the democratic goal of equality?" Here is where I became somewhat befuddled. 1st, I would not say the U.S. clings to this system, I'd say the U.S. uses this system because it works, our country does quite well under this economic system. 2nd, last I checked the U.S. is a republic and this "democratic goal of equality" is your typical socialist way most poly sci professors think. I would love to hear your take on this topic but also your take on the assignment (i.e., wording of the question, professor's motives, etc.).
