It’s Time to Take Government’s Spoiled Brats to the Woodshed
Neal Boortz
Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001
Matt Drudge is reporting that the Bush administration has quietly launched an investigation into acts of vandalism and destruction of federal property. One Bush adviser said the damage Bill Clinton's staff left goes "way beyond pranks, to vandalism."

What they've found so far:

· Phone lines have been cut. · Voice mail greetings have been changed to obscene ones. One Bush staffer whose grandmother called was rather surprised by what she heard on the line. · Many phone lines were misdirected to other government offices. · Desks were found turned upside-down and trash was deliberately left everywhere. · Computer printers were filled with blank paper that was interspersed with pornographic pictures and obscene slogans that were found only as the printers spat out pages. · Some "W" keys were glued onto keyboards with super glue, or turned upside down and then glued on. · Filing cabinets were glued shut. · Lewd graffiti was scrawled in magic marker on one office hallway. · The vice president's office space in the Old Executive Office Building was found in a shambles. Tipper Gore had to call Mrs. Cheney to apologize.

· An Air Force steward assigned to Air Force 1 – the multimillion-dollar Boeing 747 used to shuttle the president around the world – has told the Washington Times that the aircraft was "stripped bare" on Clinton’s "farewell" flight from Washington to New York. When the Clintonistas got off the airplane in New York they took with them all of the porcelain china, the silverware, salt and pepper shakers, blankets and pillow cases, all of which bore the presidential seal.

What infantile, juvenile, immature behavior! Not to mention criminal behavior. It's like dealing with a child who gets destructive when he doesn't get what he wants. This is totally in keeping, though, with the degree of respect that Bill Clinton and his minions have shown for this country and its institutions while he was occupying the White House. I guess we should expect no less from a man who could defile the Oval Office the way Clinton did, and those who supported and protected him.

Speaking of infantile behavior ...

Look at what Senate Democrats have pulled on the John Ashcroft confirmation process. Yesterday, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee placed a hold on Ashcroft's nomination for at least a week. And they demanded that Ashcroft answer more than 400 questions in writing before they would allow a vote to go forward.

All but a dozen of those 400 questions are from Democrats. Compare that number to the 35 that were asked of Janet Reno and you see that this is nothing but harassment.

What if Republicans had voted to delay the nomination of a Democratic appointee? Democratic congressmen and the press would be screaming bloody murder! They'd allude to a right-wing conspiracy and whine that Republicans weren't acting bipartisan.

Of course, the leftist media won’t suggest any lack of bipartisanship on the part of their buds in the Democratic Party.

This confirmation is going to drag on until next week, and we may be treated to more of Ted Kennedy's sanctimonious lectures.

It’s not just Democrats in government who act childish, however. The GOP has their own brat in John McCain, who wants the Senate to look at his campaign finance bill – right now!

McCain met with George W. Bush last night for about an hour. Afterward, McCain said he'd like to "get the issue up before the end of March." And he wouldn't rule out the possibility of tying up other legislation if his demands aren't met.

The media love McCain, of course. The ABC reporter covering the story said McCain looked "like a rock star" as he exited the White House amid a flurry of popping flashbulbs. The media love McCain because he's a Democrat in Republican clothes. And they love him now because he's trying to upstage George W. Bush and his new administration.

Watch out for McCain. He could be a real threat to the incumbent Dubya in 2004 if the economy doesn't pick up steam.
