Democrats Putting Party Ahead of Country
Neal Boortz
Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000
Just what votes are the Democrats talking about with their mantra, "Count the votes that have not been counted"? Those ballots where there are no punch-outs for president? The ballots with those so-called pregnant and dimpled chads?

Never in the history of Florida have dimpled or pregnant chads been counted as a vote for any candidate in any election. The only way Al Gore can be named the winner in Florida is for this to change and for Florida election officials to count dimpled and pregnant chads as votes for Al Gore. Where is the justification for doing something for Gore that has never been done for any candidate in the entire history of Florida voting?

While one group of Democrats is parading in front of the Florida legislature demanding that "every vote be counted" and another group is demonstrating outside the U.S. Supreme Court building with the same message, we have another group of Democrats pushing lawsuits in Florida demanding that absentee ballots be thrown out.

Though the mainstream media won’t exactly explain it to you this way, what the Democrats are really working for is a system whereby all questionable votes for Gore are counted, while questionable votes for Bush are thrown out. And these are the people who are professing their love for our "rule of law" and their dedication to our democratic processes!

Back on Oct. 12, the U. S. House of Representatives approved, by a 297-114 vote, a bill that would authorize polling places on domestic military installations and generally make it easier for members of the armed forces to vote.

Now the bill is in the Senate, and the Senate's leading Democrat, Tom Daschle, is blocking it. Senate aides say Daschle placed a "hold" on the bill, which means it will die unless the Senate votes on it before the current session expires at the end of the year.

Even now, after catching all kinds of hell for attempting to throw out thousands of military absentee ballots in Florida, the Democrats are still trying their damnedest to disenfranchise servicemen and servicewomen!

Can you believe the gall of these Democrats? They want to make it easier for their constituents – welfare recipients, union members, illegal aliens – to vote. They'll bend over backward to send busloads of poor, barely literate people to the polls and tell them what number to punch, but they don't want to make it easier for anyone who might (gasp!) vote Republican to vote, especially not our men and women in uniform.

The Democrats only want to make it easier to vote when they stand to gain from it. How disgustingly partisan.

All you Gorons out there, are you proud of your party? Can you honestly say you're proud that your party doesn't give a damn about the people who would sacrifice their lives to protect the freedoms you enjoy?

ABC Airs Hate-Mongering!

I’ll use the language of the left here: Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz is a hate monger. He preaches hate. He called Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris a "crook." Is this the discourse of a rational law professor?

Yet ABC continues to give him a platform to spread his hateful views. This morning he was featured on "Good Morning America" with George Mason University law professor William Lash, who made him look like a moron.

By the way, Charlie Gibson showed his liberal stripe during the conversation. He said that Republicans have suddenly found a love of the idea of equal protection under our laws. Gibson went on to say that Republicans aren’t particularly fond of the idea of equal protection when it comes to the death penalty because they don’t seek to have an equal percentage of white guys and black guys executed.

Could a Bush Tax Cut Prevent Recession?

Bruce Bartlett of the National Center for Policy Analysis thinks so. Key economic indicators point toward a downturn in the economy next year, but a Bush tax cut could prevent it if it's enacted soon. But the longer Al Gore draws the election out – and the longer Bush and his administration are hindered from organizing themselves – the greater the odds of a recession.

Look for the Democrats to hamstring Bush's tax cut plan next year. They know that by remaining inactive and refusing to pass a tax cut, they can pin the bad economy on him and the Republicans in 2002, then reap the rewards in the congressional elections.

For the Democrats, this isn't about putting the country on the right economic path – it's about getting revenge. It's about seizing power at any cost, even if it means sitting back and watching a recession put thousands of Americans out of their jobs.
