Newsmax Rises Fast at Barnes & Noble
Newsmax Magazine had a banner year from Q1 of 2006 through Q1 of 2007, according to a new report from Barnes & Noble, one of the major chains that carries the award-winning monthly.
For Q1 2007, Newsmax ranked #503 in sales among the more than 5,000 titles carried by Barnes & Noble's 800 stores. That is a significant rise from #1,147 at the end of Q1 2006 — a climb of 644 places in 1 year.
Interestingly, with its top tier B&N ranking, Newsmax Magazine is now outselling throughout the chain such well-known publications as Reader's Digest, Better Homes & Gardens, Woman’s Day and Family Circle.
Newsmax Magazine is carried in some 800 B&N stores. It is also sold in other major book and magazine retailers including Hastings, Follett, Borders, B.Dalton, Books-a-Million and Joseph Beth, and at Hudson News and Paradies airport newsstands.
Another footnote: B&N also operates 387 college bookstores. Newsmax was recently recognized as one of the top 25 best-selling magazines in college bookstores by College Store Executive Magazine 2006.
