Please take a moment during this Veterans Day week to thank a veteran for his or her service in the military, and please keep all of our troops at home and overseas in your constant thoughts and prayers.
Veterans put their lives on the line to protect the freedom we so much enjoy. This is why it is so important that we honor their courage and sacrifice in doing what so few others do.
Please, especially keep in your prayers our veterans who have permanent disabilities and maladies, who are still in hospitals or need medical attention, and those who care for and provide services to them.
We are also wise to remember the families of our veterans in our prayers and appreciation.
So many of our veterans have given life and limb for America's freedom.
Many times, these sacrifices are done outside of the public eye and go without recognition or thanks.
This reminds me of a quotation by Mark Twain: “In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.”
