KISS bassist Gene Simmons will be featured on the cover of the summer issue of U.S. Veterans Magazine.

The cover features these words under the lizard-tongued rock group founder's photo: "Gene Simmons: Generous and Supportive Patriot."

Simmons, 64, posted the cover to his website and on Twitter. His account also has a number of tweets thanking him for his longstanding support of America's troops.

KISS, founded in 1973, has performed numerous tributes to the troops, both in the United States and overseas, Breitbart.com reports.

In 2011, Simmons sang in a tribute to the armed forces before singing "America the Beautiful" with the troops.

Story continues below video.

Established four years ago, U.S. Veterans Magazine is a quarterly that describes itself as a "career, business and benefits resource for veterans transitioning from military to civilian life." It is based in Irvine, Calif.
