Donald Trump is the featured speaker on Sept. 24 at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University.
Trump has been praised as a force during this election cycle by university President Jerry Falwell Jr., the son of the late televangelist who died in 2007.
The real estate mogul and star of "The Apprentice" endorsed Mitt Romney for president in February; before that he led an effort that forced President Obama to make public his full birth certificate.
Falwell, who founded Liberty in 1971, was an outspoken televangelist, and founder of the Moral Majority Coalition -- a political organization for the promotion of conservative social values. Liberty University’s Convocation host guest speakers three times a week and they include authors, politicians and religious figures. Altogether, some 80 speakers visit the university each year.
According to
USA Today the current Chancellor and President of Liberty University Jerry Falwell Jr. said recently lauded Trump "for his views on fiscal conservatism." Falwell went on to say that “Donald has publicly expressed his support for our university's mission to preserve the founding values of our nation.”
Liberty University was the stop earlier in the year for Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney who gave a commencement speech to the 2012 graduating class.
"In the wake of the greatest expansion of government since FDR, Mr. Trump stepped right into the bull's eye and used his platform to fight for the preservation of capitalism, the free market and limited government,” Fallwell said.
