A spokeswoman for Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Tuesday that a post on the senator's official Twitter account "liking" a pornographic video has been removed and reported.

Late Monday night, Cruz' official Twitter account "liked" a video tweeted by an account titled "Sexuall Posts," according to CNN. The "like" was removed a short time later, but not before it drew attention.

Cruz has not directly addressed the issue as of Tuesday morning, though spokeswoman Catherine Frazier's tweet implies that he will deny "liking" the tweet himself.

The event inspired many to criticize or ridicule Cruz, who is known for his moral objection to "autonomous sex," including his former college roommate and actor/director Zach Braff.
