Former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has founded his own home-school curriculum program from kindergarten through grade 12 to provide an “education in liberty like no other,”
The Daily Caller reports.
The online curriculum, created by the three-time presidential candidate and former Texas congressman, provides courses in history, government, economics, science, and mathematics.
“Here, students learn the basics of Western Civilization and Western liberty — how it was won, how it is being lost, and how it will be restored. (Not can . . . will.),” RonPaulCurriculum.com states.
“Students also learn the basics of American history, the United States Constitution, and American geography. They get two courses on free market economics. They get two courses on government, including a how-to course on reclaiming America, one county at a time.”
The K-5 program will be free, which means students and families will be able to learn under Paul for the first six years “without spending a dime,” Tom Woods — one of the curriculum's teachers and a Ludwig von Mises Institute senior fellow — told The Daily Caller.
Gary North, Paul’s director of curriculum development, said the curriculum will “teach the Biblical principle of self-government and personal responsibility . . . the history of liberty [and] liberty’s rivals.’’
It will also teach the Constitution and how it “has been hijacked,’’ he said.
