Hollywood Honors Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda will be honored in Hollywood Saturday as part of the 4th annual TCM Classic Film Festival.

Fonda will take part in two events during the festival, beginning with a public ceremony where she will have her hand and footprints enshrined in concrete next to her father Henry Fonda’s in front of the TCL Chinese Theater — formerly Grauman’s Chinese Theater — on the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"Hanoi Jane" will then help introduce a screening of “On Golden Pond," the 1981 drama in which she worked with her father for the only time.

This marks the third consecutive year TCM has featured a hand and footprint ceremony at TCL Chinese Theater. In 2011, Peter O’Toole was the honoree, followed in 2012 by Kim Novak.

There are nearly 200 celebrity handprints, footprints, and autographs in the concrete of the theater's forecourt, and inclusion is considered to be one of Hollywood’s highest honors.

Variations of this tradition include the imprints of the cigar of Groucho Marx, the fist of John Wayne, and the noses of Jimmy Durante and Bob Hope.
