FBI records show a connection between Saudis who lived in Sarasota, Fla. before 9/11 and “individuals associated with the terrorist attacks.”

The Broward Bulldog, an investigative blog, reports the link has sparked new interest in whether Osama bin Laden and the suicide hijackers who crashed jets into the World Trade Center had help.

“What we’ve discovered in Sarasota may be another step toward exposing a larger network of Saudi-related individuals who assisted the hijackers,’’ former Florida Sen. Bob Graham told the Bulldog.

The FBI records focus on the posh home of a Saudi native and his family in the gated community of Prestancia. Agents determined the family “fled” their home two weeks before the attacks, leaving behind cars, furniture and clothing.

“Further investigation … revealed many connections between the [family] and individuals associated with the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001,” the FBI report says.

As former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Graham believes a new investigation is now needed to get the truth.

“My goal is to have the investigation reopened and do a full inquiry into the Saudi aspects and then make the results available to the American people,” he said.
