Donald Trump is blasting New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and his lawsuit against him for his "Trump University," saying that despite promises of a big cash payout, the state has only found 97 alleged victims willing to sign on.

"Like bees on honey, these 97 people have been lured by the AG with the promise and hope of monetary damages," said Trump attorney Jeffrey Goldman, while filing court papers in the Manhattan Supreme Court that poke fun at the state's $40 million lawsuit, The New York Post reports.

In August, Schneiderman accused Trump of defrauding more than 5,000 people nationally through his Trump University, which offered free seminars to help them get rich by using real estate-investing techniques used by the billionaire developer and reality TV star.

Instead, the suit claims, the free seminars were held to get people to sign up for a three-day seminar, for $1,495 that insinuated Trump would appear. Further, the lawsuit said, people who paid for the three-day seminar were encouraged to sign up for a "Trump elite membership program" costing up to $35,000 a person.

Trump's attorney said Monday that the AG keeps changing theories and facts in the lawsuit, playing a "game of Twister" that warrants its dismissal.

"The AG can't ask the court to spin the dial and see where the arrow lands for which argument the AG is making," Goldman told The Post.

Trump has defended himself by saying that the allegations are politically motivated, claiming that President Barack Obama was behind the lawsuit.

Monday's filing said that it's "no surprise" that former students aren't coming forward.

"In fact, the only surprise is that only 97 allegedly new people have come forward following Mr. Schneiderman’s defamatory and unstatesmanlike media campaign to publicize this lawsuit," the lawsuit says, referring to the AG's television appearances to speak about the case.
