No one believes President Barack Obama anymore because he's "lost the confidence of telling the truth," the former chief of staff to President George W. Bush told "MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"President Obama has lost the confidence of telling the truth to the American people. And, he's done the same thing around the world," Andrew Card said Tuesday.

"I do think words matter when they come out of the president's mouth. And, people at the White House understand that, and should be helping to make sure his words are taken for what they are — the truth," he said.
Card blamed the president and his advisers for misleading Americans about being able to keep current health insurance. Millions of people are reporting losing their coverage, because their policies do not meet standards of care set under the Affordable Care Act.
"I fault not only the president, but I fault the people around the president, for allowing him to mislead the American people for so long," Card said.
"I think there were a lot of people that knew what the president was saying. They knew it wasn't accurate. But, nobody was correcting it," he added.
Card pointed out there's a difference between the words of a candidate and words of a president.
"His categorical statements were made, not as a candidate, but as a president of the United States. And, words do matter at the White House," Card said.
