Actor Antonio Sabato Jr., who is running for Congress from California, says he has met disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein many times and knew he was "a slime."

Asked by "Fox News Tonight" host Brian Kilmeade how Weinstein got away with sexual misconduct for so long, Sabato said, "Just power. And people not talking about it when they should have many, many years ago."

A New York Times story last week on allegations against the now-fired founder of The Weinstein Company opened the floodgates of actresses, journalists and more who say made unwanted advances and touched them inappropriately. A New Yorker article by Ronan Farrow brought out allegations of rape.

"I've met Harvey many times, and I knew he was a slime then. And he's a slime now," Sabato said. "I grew up watching movies back in the day, classic films. Standing up for what is right. They would stand up and say this is wrong; I'm not going to work with this person again."

Powerful men in Hollywood such as actor George Clooney shouldn't have waited for the story to break to speak out, Sabato said. "I wish George Clooney would keep coming out. … There's more than Harvey Weinstein out there, people attacking women and really getting — they are deciding their future."
