Neighborhood watchman turned murder defendant turned artist George Zimmerman is selling an original painting on eBay — and the price jumped from 99 cents to nearly $100,000 in just eight hours.

The 18-by-24 canvas painting is a blue American flag covered with words from the Pledge of Allegiance including God, One Nation and Liberty and Justice For All.

"First hand painted artwork by me, George Zimmerman," the item description reads.

"Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself. I found a creative way to express myself, my emotions and the symbols that represent my experiences. My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors :-) I hope you enjoy owning this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it. Your friend, George Zimmerman."

Bidding on Zimmerman's canvas ends on Saturday. Shipping is $40.

In a Q&A about the item, a supporter writes: "Just wanted to tell you we all love you and stand behind you. You have so many people on your side I hope you know that!"

Zimmerman responded that he knows "how many great Americans are still here. I run into at least 3-5 a day that go out of their way to tell me the same."

Acquitted in July of murder for the fatal shooting of black teen Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman is mired in legal debt north of $2 million, the New York Post reports.

Since the case he has been involved in a nasty divorce. He has been investigated twice for domestic disturbances, one involving his estranged wife, Shellie, and once with his new girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe.  Both women decided against pressing charges.
