SALT LAKE CITY — Federal officials say they found explosive material inside a Utah home where a narcotics officer was shot dead and five others were wounded.

Brad Beyersdorf, a spokesman with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said Monday that agents detonated the material inside the Ogden house because it couldn't be safely moved.

Beyersdorf stressed the material wasn't a bomb.

The Weber County attorney is expected to file charges against 37-year-old Matthew David Stewart for the shooting last week. Stewart is being detained at a hospital with a gunshot wound.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Ogden officer Jared Francom, a member of the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force.

McKay-Dee Hospital says just one officer remains in critical condition. Two others have been upgraded to fair condition.
