The Republican National Committee has made its 2012 convention city official.
The committee voted to approve a plan to hold its presidential nomination convention in Tampa, Fla.

Florida is a crucial swing state — and one that President Barack Obama put in the Democratic column in 2008.
Republicans want it back and are hoping to boost their prospects by hosting the convention in the state.
