Republican opponents of Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., are giving it to her good over comments she made this week complaining about airport security pat-downs,
The Hill reports.
The senator sold her private plane earlier this year after previously failing to pay property taxes on it.
McCaskill said Wednesday that Transportation Security Administration (TSA) procedures make her dread flying.
Missouri state Treasurer Sarah Steelman, one of McCaskill's possible GOP opponents, said McCaskill is now learning how normal Americans feel.
"Welcome to the real world, Claire," Steelman said in a statement.
A spokesman for Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo., who opposes Steelman in the Republican primary, told The Hill he agrees.
