Many Republicans say President Barack Obama should approve more offshore exploration for oil and gas. And voters apparently agree. A new poll conducted for The Hill shows that 66 percent of them believe the president should do so, while 25 percent disagree.

voters, favor, offshore, explorationVoters don’t see one party as much more responsible for the surge in gasoline prices than another. A majority of respondents – 52 percent -- say neither party is to blame. Meanwhile, 22 percent blame Republicans, while 19 percent blame Democrats. The survey also shows that 50 percent of voters want Obama to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, compared to 35 percent who are opposed.
