Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will travel to South Korea for the first time next month. She is slated to address the World Knowledge Forum, which runs from Oct. 11 to 13, according to South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper, the event’s host.

Sarah Palin, South Korea, GOPPalin will speak about how to lift the world from its latest crisis, the paper reports.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate hasn’t announced yet whether she’ll run for president in 2012. The trip to South Korea could bolster her foreign-policy credentials if she does enter the race. Palin traveled to a business forum in Hong Kong in 2009, which also was seen as an effort to increase her international experience.

Former U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown also will speak at the South Korean event.
