Park Ranger Shot at Mount Rainier National Park

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff's office says a U.S. Forest Service ranger was shot Sunday morning at Mount Rainier National Park.

The News Tribune reports the shooting happened just before 11 a.m. near the Longmire Ranger Station.

The Washington State Patrol and the Pierce County Sheriff's Office are working together on the investigation, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Other details were not immediately available.
