Facebook users in South Carolina are fairly united as to which issue is the most important facing the country. It’s the economy, according a poll conducted by Facebook/Politico.

A hefty 76 percent of South Carolina Facebook users see it that way, while 16 percent named social issues, and 8 percent selected national security. Interestingly, younger users — ages 18 to 29 — are less concerned about the economy than their elders. A total of 65 percent in that age group listed the economy No. 1, compared to 73 percent for those ages 25 to 34, and 77 percent of 35- to 49-year-olds.

The poll surveyed 1,093 adult Facebook users in South Carolina Monday. It didn’t filter for registered voters or party affiliation.
