INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is recovering at home after receiving 16 stitches in his forehead to close a wound from a gym accident.

The governor's office says the accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. Friday at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport in downtown Indianapolis. Daniels was standing near a door that suddenly swung open and struck him.

His security detail transported him to Methodist Hospital, where he we was treated and released.

The Republican governor is expected to announce a decision soon on whether he will run for president.

He had surgery Feb. 17 to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder.
