Clinton White House Records Detail Advice to Gore

The National Archives has released another 4,000 pages of records from former President Bill Clinton's White House.

The records include edited versions of Bill Clinton's remarks to the nation after the 2000 election recount and Hillary Clinton's speech to the Democratic National Convention that year.

Another document from an adviser to Vice President Al Gore offers instructions on how to respond to a January 1999 poll in USA Today that showed candidate George W. Bush leading Gore. The adviser urged Gore aides to quote, "UNDERSPIN it and downplay its significance."

It's the second batch of Clinton records to be released in recent weeks. The documents are being closely watched as the former first lady and secretary of state considers another presidential bid in 2016.
