Casey Anthony, the Florida woman who has remained in seclusion since her acquittal in the death of her young daughter, surfaced publicly for the first time in months in a phone call with CNN’s Piers Morgan and told him that the jury got it right and that she did not kill her daughter.

During her 10-minute phone call, Anthony told Morgan, “Obviously I didn't kill my daughter. If anything, there's nothing in this world l’ve ever been more proud of, and there's no one I loved more than my daughter. She's my greatest accomplishment," she said, according to Morgan.

Anthony was acquitted of murder but convicted of lying to authorities and was released from jail last July after being given credit for time served.

Her 2-year-old daughter Caylee went missing in June 2008, but Anthony did not tell authorities for a month. When  Caylee’s body was discovered five months later in woods less than a mile from her grandparents' Orlando home, Anthony was charged. Prosecutors alleged Anthony suffocated the little girl and put her body in the trunk of her car for a few days before disposing of it.

Morgan talked about the phone call on his show "Piers Morgan Tonight,"on Tuesday. The conversation was not played on television.

Morgan said she told him, “I’m ashamed in many ways of the person that I was," reflecting on past interviews. “Even then, that wasn’t who I am.”

"I'm 26 now, and I've gone through hell," Anthony told the television host. She also told him she didn't trust law enforcement and that the public image of her is still wildly inaccurate.

"I've never been a party girl. I don't drink now. I've probably had a handful of beers since I've been on probation," she said. "I'm not making gazillions of dollars at the hands of other people, or trying to sell myself to anyone willing to throw a couple of dollars at me," Anthony said.

"The caricature of me that is out there, it couldn't be further from the truth."
