Actress and model Alana Stewart, who has persevered through the breakdown of two celebrity marriages to George Hamilton and Rod Stewart, tells Newsmax.TV that she wanted her new memoir to help people “reach down and find inner strength.”

Stewart’s book is titled “Rearview Mirror, A Memoir.” It chronicles her journey from small-town roots to her escape to New York City and her glittering but often heartbreaking life in Hollywood.

Story continues below video:

“What I really would love for people to take away is that no matter what kind of challenges or difficulties or painful situations you go through in your life, we all have something deep within us that we can reach down and find the inner strength to get through them,” Stewart told Newsmax.TV’s Kathleen Walter.

After the breakup of her second marriage, Stewart says she fell to pieces but then rebounded thanks to her spirituality.

“I had a total emotional breakdown, but I couldn’t allow myself to not carry on because I had three children, and I needed to be there for them,” Stewart said. “I really started searching for answers and strength. Growing up with my mother in Texas, out in the country, and growing up very poor, she was a woman of faith. And she had instilled a great deal of that in me and those values.”

So that’s what got her through. In addition, Dr. Deepak Chopra helped Stewart learn “how the power of our mind affects our bodies and how we really need something larger than ourselves to look to get strength and guidance,” she said.

“I call that God, other people call it a higher power or whatever one wants to call it, it’s very important to me. It’s that inner strength within us.”
