A former Beverly Hills SWAT supervisor is claiming that a department detective pulled a sheet off the dead body of singer Whitney Houston last year, peeked at her body, and made an inappropriate comment.

Brian Weir, who responded to the Beverly Hilton on Feb. 11, 2012, as the senior patrol sergeant on duty, said he reported the alleged misconduct involving Beverly Hills detective Sgt. Terry Nutall, according to NBC News.

Weir says that he was removed as SWAT supervisor after reporting the incident. His attorney Christopher Brizzolara filed the claim with the city of Beverly Hills and other California state agencies, which was a precursor to a civil lawsuit.

But law enforcement officials told TMZ there is no report of Weir complaining about Nutall's actions. The officers were surprised by the allegation, and believe his claims are "sour grapes" since he was fired.

"Weir says he's been harassed and stripped of privileges since allegedly reporting the incident. But our sources say it's a bogus claim," TMZ reported.

Houston, an award-winning singer, 48, was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hilton on the afternoon of Feb. 11. She was 48. The Los Angeles County Coroner determined that she died of accidental drowning, and cocaine use and heart disease were contributing factors.

Dmitry Gorin, a former Los Angeles County deputy district attorney said that if Weir's allegations are true, it would open the department and city to civil litigation.

"If proven, Officer Nutall's actions were highly inappropriate and demonstrate very poor judgment by a senior BHPD officer," Gorin told NBC News. "A law enforcement officer more interested in what a decedent's body looks like than securing a possible crime scene may taint the original placement of relevant DNA and fiber evidence, causing investigators to miss data and draw incorrect conclusions."

Houston was in Los Angeles preparing to attend a pre-Grammy party thrown by music producer Clive Davis at the time of her death.
