A new landmark appeared near the White House in the form of a giant inflatable chicken with Trump-like hair.

The massive balloon appeared on Wednesday on a piece of land just south of the White House, between the president’s residence and the Washington monument, HuffPost noted.

Since then the chicken, which was erected by documentary filmmaker Taran Singh Brar, has become an internet sensation, sparking a number of memes and hashtags in its honor.

The inflatable chicken, referred to as "Trump Chicken" or "Chicken Don" by those supporting the prank, also drew its share of criticism from Trump supporters.

Speaking about why he decided to install the giant inflatable chicken near the White House, Brar said he came up with the idea in March to bring the 30-foot balloon to the Ellipse.

"I lined it up with iconic shots and I have been lucky enough to make it four months after planning and permitting," he said in an interview with Time.

The chicken reportedly cost Brar $1,300, was designed by Casey Latiolai, a Seattle artist, and was produced in China.

Brar said the aim of erecting the giant chicken balloon was to bring attention to the fact that Trump was a "weak and ineffective leader," USA Today reported.

"He's too afraid to release his tax returns, too afraid to stand up to Vladimir Putin and playing chicken with North Korea," he said.

Brar added that he had obtained a permit for the installation of the balloon.

"The tallest thing they usually allow on the Ellipse is the national Christmas tree," he told USA Today.

"They gave me a waiver for the 30-foot chicken Don."
