Australia's Ugg boots are not only here to stay but on Black Friday they were the most searched fashion item on Google Shopping.
According to Google's preliminary Black Friday research, Ugg boots were top trenders among fashion wear through mid-Friday, said The Huffington Post
. Ugg boots only trailed video game consoles, tablets, and Minecraft Legos for all Black Friday gift searches.

"Despite having fallen out of favor as the trendiest footwear, Google's data shows that Uggs are still holding strong, and we shouldn't be too surprised," the Huffington Post's Ellie Krupnick said on Monday. "According to a survey conducted by Beso.com this past spring, more than a quarter of American women polled own a pair of Ugg boots. Even 'kids these days' still love Ugg-style boots, as evidenced by the One Direction booties that debuted this past year."
That popularity appeared to have translated into Wall Street for the footwear. Bloomberg Businessweek stated Monday that Deckers Outdoors stock rose $2.73,
or 3.3 percent, to $85.37 in afternoon trading because of Ugg boots' popularity over the weekend.
Nordstrom stores noted that Ugg boots attracted the most attention at its stores while their Swarovski Classic collection also sold well. At Ugg stores, traffic was strong and consistent, Camilo Lyon of Canaccord Genuity told Businessweek.
"We continue to believe the colder weather has helped spur Ugg sales, particularly as consumers replace older Uggs," Lyon wrote, per Businessweek.
London's Daily Mail wrote that passive celebrity endorsement
could have also helped in the popularity. Stars like singer Katy Perry, supermodel Gisele Bundchen and actress Sarah Michelle Gellar have all been seen wearing Ugg boots as the cold weather became more consistent.
Ugg Australia is offering up to 30 percent off many of its styles, ranging from $100 to $780 for Cyber Monday, according to the Daily Mail. Still, the newspaper said searches for the footwear were down from previous Black Fridays.
