Twerking Mom KO's Kid With Butt, Becomes a YouTube Sensation

By Michael Mullins   |   Friday, 02 May 2014 09:13 AM

A twerking mom KO'd her toddler with her butt in an embarrassing caught on tape accident that has since gone viral on YouTube.

The mom, Summer Knowlden, was demonstrating her moves while dancing to T.I.'s "Bring Em Out," when she leaned back as if to go into a twerking motion, at which point she hit her child in the face with her buttocks and sent the little girl back on the floor.

"I decided to enter an online dance-off for moms, but was a little hesitant about posting a clip of me dancing on the Internet," the Utah mom wrote on YouTube underneath the video she posted. "I wanted to practice a little before and this is an outtake from my 'warm-up.' It's too good not to share!!"

As of 9 a.m. Friday, the video had already received more than 1.4 million views.

As for her daughter's well-being from the epic encounter with her mother's bouncing behind, Knowlden added on YouTube, "Our daughter didn't even cry; she just laid on the ground a little surprised. All is well :)"

Twerking, the sexually suggestive dance move in which a person, usually a woman, gyrates backwards up against someone else, gained national notoriety after a half-naked Miley Cyrus performed the move on Robin Thicke during the MTV Video Music Awards last August.

The hip-hop move has since become a pop-culture phenomenon in which everyone from 68-year-old English actress Helen Mirren to a random pair of women twerking on a New York City subway track last November.

As a result of its popularity, twerking was added into the online Oxford Dictionary last year.
