For a period of 10 years, the Tsarnaev family, including Boston bombing suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar, reaped a total of $100,000 in taxpayer-funded welfare benefits, including food stamps and Section 8 housing.

The state of Massachusetts has handed over 500 documents detailing the benefits to the House Post Audit and Oversight Committee.

"I can assure members of the public that this committee will actively review every single piece of information we can find because clearly the public has a substantial right to know what benefits, if any, this family or individuals accused of some horrific crimes were receiving," state Rep. David Linsky, chairman of the committee, told the Boston Herald.

It was reported last week that Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect, and his wife Katherine Russell were on welfare until 2012, when the couple exceeded the income eligibility limits. The news raises new questions about whether Tsarnaev funded his reported radicalization on taxpayer money.

Twitter users who believe that taxpayer money floated the Tsarnaev family while their sons were allegedly being turned into terrorists are outraged.
