Donald Trump says New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is intimidated by him as speculation grows that the Republican business mogul could join the next gubernatorial race.

“Andrew Cuomo is obviously scared of me and now stealing my proposals,” Trump said in an email to Breitbart. He referred to the fact that Cuomo recently announced all tolls to cross Staten Island’s Verrazano Bridge would be reduced.

It was a proposal that Trump made a month ago.

“However, his toll cut is minuscule compared to the 50 percent cut I would deliver on day one as governor,” Trump said in the email.

Cuomo announced the cut Thursday to $5.50 for Staten Island residents who use the state’s E-ZPass system to cross the bridge. Currently the rate is $6 for residents who use the toll at least three times a week.

For nonresidents, the toll is $10.66 with E-ZPass or $15 in cash.

State officials told The New York Times that plans to change the toll have been in the works for a year.

Some criticized the move because of the budget cuts to the transportation authority, which will amount to around $7 million each from the state budget and the transportation authority budget.

“This will provide real relief to Staten Islanders who are forced to pay a toll that residents in other boroughs don't have to and it will help businesses save money on transportation costs,” a source told the New York Daily News.

Trump feels Cuomo only made the toll cuts because it’s an election year.

“Andrew is a terrible governor and he does not want anyone to expose his real record,” he told Breitbart. “Next he will take my other public advice and get married. His wife should thank me.”

In various speeches in the last two months, Trump has talked about cutting all state taxes in half if he was elected governor.
