Police said the man was seen wearing a backpack, prompting fears that may have a weapon.
ABC2 News investigative reporter Brian Kuebler tweeted several times from the scene.
WMAR-TV meteorologist Mike Masco tweeted that the staff had been evacuated and that everyone at the station appeared to be safe.
Reporter Chrisitan Schaffer posted a Vine video of the truck ramming into the building.
"I was looking at the truck hoping to get a license plate when he then made a sharp right hand turn into the alcove and proceeded to first ram the building closest to York Road, appeared to get hung up on the metal railing," ABC2 News production manager Michael Marion
said in their news report. "He had smashed through the first section and then all that was between truck and him was the main door, heard another smash and the last thing I saw was the truck fully in the lobby."
The building was evacuated and a nearby school went under lockdown. WMAR-TV news director Kelly Groft told the paper that all employees were safe and accounted for.
